Daytime robberies suspect in custody, Police prompt for continued vigilance
This has been released and shows the progress made in these cases. As the investigation moves forward we may discover that he was responsible for many or all of the burglaries in our area. HOWEVER…don’t let your guard down. It’s still very early in this investigation. Of course we hope this ends the string of burglaries but at this point we don’t have a definitive answer for that question. Below is the press release:
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR
BURGLARY OF UPPERVILLE
A Maryland man is in custody after charges were obtained for the daytime burglary of a home in the Upperville area of Fauquier County.
Early Wednesday morning, detectives charged Theodore Roosevelt Bailey, 62, of Capitol Heights, Maryland with burglary and possession of burglarious tools, both are felonies. A home on Mount Airy Road west of Upperville was found burglarized around noon on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
Bailey was located in Alexandria, VA and taken into custody without incident. Bailey was taken before a magistrate and is being held in the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center with no bond.
Over the past several weeks numerous homes have been broken into during the daytime on the Rt 17 corridor between Warrenton and Great Meadow. Several homes along the Rt 50 corridor near Upperville in both Fauquier and Loudoun counties were also burglarized. Fauquier detectives are continuing to work a joint investigation with Loudoun detectives and other jurisdictions to investigate these other burglaries.
