Stuart Will, of IES, responding to several complaints about unusually high water bills, noted that leaks were the cause in at least two instances.   He is now inspecting some of the town’s water meters “on a weekly basis to see if they were leaking” and, if they were, “he would make the homeowner aware of it.”

Will noted, “he was working with the homeowners” to help them understand that, with an undiscovered leak,  water that the homeowner was paying for was often simply “going through the meter and down the drain. “
