After “considerable discussion” at its last work session, Town Council agreed to suggest that  Middleburg’s overtime parking fines be set at:

  • $30 (initial fine)
  • $55 (if not paid within seven days)
  • $100 (repeat offender if paid within seven days) and
  • $200 (repeat offender if paid after seven days).
  • Fines for illegal parking in places reserved for the handicapped will be higher.

Town Clerk Rhonda North noted that the suggested fines “would be advertised for a public hearing during [Council’s]  March work session.”

  1. Are you kidding me??? The streets are half full of vacant buildings and they’re going to start imposing fines on the few parking spaces that are available. That’s lunacy.
